Its the one day annualy when I admit that I am actually grateful for my country and all those who serve it (as opposed to my usual constant criticism, which [despite the sarcastic harshness of it] does not even approach my criticism of the US). I acknowledge that I consider myself incredibly lucky to be born in a country with the vote, universal freedom and respect, no serious racism, free speech, universal free healthcare (though free dentistry would be a plus as well), dedicated and competent(ish) politicians and public servants, and loyal and self sacrificing police officers and armed forces.

I am truly glad to be Canadian!

Ps: No offense intended for all those who don't live in Canada, even you Americans (as much as I pity you, well at least you've got interesting politics and a charismatic leader).
